Sexiest Lesbian Alive Chosen In Provincetown

And the winner is…

A competition to find and proclaim The Sexiest Lesbian Alive was held on July 19 in Provincetown by internationally-known musician, composer and transmedia artist Phoebe Legere.

The award was presented to LGBT activist, author, attorney and advisor Urvashi Vaid.

The competition was held at the Grotta venue on 186 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA during Phoebe Legere’s show featuring her band, Los Vassar Girls with Nancy Asch on percussion and drums and Susie Rakowski on bass. Provincetown WOMR radio personality, Pandora Peoples helped interview the contestants and tabulate the votes while belly dancing throughout the night that featured original music by Legere and Cajun classics.

According to Legere, “There are so many ways to define sexy. Sexy is kindness, service as a role model to young women, charisma, community activism and strength. Urvashi Vaid embodies all of these qualities and much more.”

The proclamation presented to Vaid by Legere read:

“In Appreciation For Your Unrelenting Efforts & Continuous Contributions To Our Community & In Recognition Of Your Charm, Strength & Charisma, I, Phoebe Legere, Do Hereby Proclaim The SEXIEST LESBIAN ALIVE Award to Urvashi Vaid.”

Urvashi Vaid is CEO of the Vaid Group LLC, which works with social justice innovators, movements and organizations to address structural inequalities based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, gender and economic status. Visit the official website to learn more.
