Event celebrates the first ten years of the WOW Cafe, New York City.
To mark the publication of the book MEMORIES OF THE REVOLUTION: The First Ten Years of the WOW Cafe, editors Holly Hughes, Carmelita Tropicana and Jill Dolan have brought together many of the iconic lesbian and queer artists who emerged from this "Home For Wayward Girls" in the 1980s on New York City's Lower East Side. Hosted by Lisa Kron, Carmelita Tropicana and Lois Weaver, the one night only event will feature performances by guests including Lisa Kron (Fun Home), Dom Dibbell, Moe Angelos, Babs Davy, Peg Healey, Peggy Shaw, Sharon Jane Smith, Claire Moed, Uzi Parnes, Deb Miller, Lynn Hayes, Alice Forrester, KT Thomas and many, many more!
Admission is $30 and includes a copy of the book. Not only will it be a memorable night, but the book itself is a fabulous keepsake and a slice of NYC lesbian herstory, including photos, stories, scripts, and interviews from the women who created a paradise of radical lesbian performance, eroticism, identity, and self-expression.
