Ilene Chaiken’s groundbreaking series revolved around the lives of a fictional group of sexually adventurous, lesbian and bisexual women living in West Hollywood. Everyone I know went to watch parties and hung on every episode. It was a huge deal to see ourselves represented (a little more femmy than most of us actually are, but that’s Hollywood!). It felt like the first show that was ours.
