The movie takes place in 1966 and follows a group of DJs who broadcast Rock n’ Roll music at all hours of the day from a boat anchored outside of British waters to combat British radio stations playing only an hour of pop music a day. While it is a fun film, there is only one gay character, Felicity, who identifies as a lesbian. She’s the cook on the boat, but most of her speaking lines center around her being a lesbian, and she doesn’t get much screen time or development beyond that.
