Your mileage may vary as to whether it moves sufficiently past the coming-out stage of the main character’s development (though it’s one of the few films where the lead’s parents then come out to her in turn!); it’s also not explicitly confirmed whether the author of the comic on which it’s based is queer herself or simply really good at writing realistic lesbian-focused stories, but its very sweet, loving and nonfetishistic portrayal of a budding lesbian relationship make it an important Asian cinema entry.
