The project started as a PSA video narrated by Lea DeLaria that announced a fundraising campaign to support the last 15 lesbian bars left in the country, many of which were financially threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Then in June 2021 in connection with Pride Month, the short documentary was released. A three-part docuseries was released on National Coming Out Day 2022. The filmmakers are queer and the project is entirely focused on a part of queer life with a rich history.
