I was so excited to see this Anne Hathaway film, but then deeply disappointed to see this story about two lesbians become a dark stereotype. Directed by a man, the story edges close to a sexy coming of age / May-December / sexual awakening story. But then, the older woman turns out to be a sociopath who uses the younger women to help her with a crime. And the younger woman is so messed up that she’ll do anything for her new love. It’s two lesbian monsters. Awesome. We’ve had enough of these stories. This one fails the Curve Test.
