Unbuttoned// A festival of gender, art and you comes to Brisbane in September.
Brisbane audiences will be thrilled in September with a microfestival within a festival: Unbuttoned// A festival of gender, art and you.
Presented by Metro Arts and Brisbane Festival, this risky and sexy program of performance, visual art, film, workshops, and talks spans four days and will take over Metro Arts’ heritage building.
Unbuttoned asks the questions: what does it mean to be in these bodies? How do we gender, how do we un-do gender? What hurts, what thrills and what's possible?
Unbuttoned// A festival of gender, art and you offers a selection of free and ticketed events, providing an inclusive event where all bodies are welcome.
One free program is the captivating talk Cider Cough with Tristan Meecham. Meecham will sit down with two LGBTQIA icons, Jill Bowen and Brian Day, to chat about gender, sexuality and discrimination in 1970’s Queensland to the present day.
This festival has something for everyone to enjoy. For further information on the program and bookings, visit Metro Arts official website.
When: 15-18 September 2016
