Hailing from Ireland, London-based singer-songwriter Jess Young releases her 2nd single “I Don’t Need You To Love Me” on April 17th & it is available now for pre-save on your preferred music service.
Jess showed the strength of her songwriting, her unique sound and embraced her sexuality with her debut single “Champagne & Caviar”, which amounted to rave reviews in Ireland & the UK.
Like her debut, “I Don’t Need You To Love Me” was written at that time in Jess’s life that she spent in a woman’s refuge in London.
“I wrote the song about how you don’t need anyone to love you if you can find that respect for yourself. If you have that, you have everything. It was the first song I ever wrote about the abusive relationship I’d been in just a few months previously and it was the first time I’d ever been able to let myself feel angry about how I’d been treated. Cathartic is an understatement!” – Jess Young
Having developed her unique blend of rock and electro-pop from 2017, Jess caught the attention of Platinum award winning producer Tom Allom (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest) and Multi Emmy® nominated, 3 times BAFTA winning sound engineer Nigel Heath (Downton Abbey, Killing Eve) and has since had her music placed on prime-time television worldwide.
