Proceeds of the 3 day auction will benefit Maison Plein Coeur
Being an artist is not an easy job. Who else takes deep personal themes directly from their subconscious and then launches them like colourful little grenades on to the canvas and to the whole world for display? Not only do artists work very hard in a domain that not all understand but one underlying theme is ever present and that is their devoted sensitivity and generosity directed towards causes that are dear to them and the world at large.
One such artist is Montreal’s Yunus Chkirate. Talented, focused, hard working and already in his fifth year as an independent artist, he doesn’t have to donate to charity nor participate in benefit events, but he does. Have you ever wonder why?
On Wednesday, October 21, starting at 11:00 am you will be able to bid on a selection of six beautiful works of art created by Yunus Chkirate. The on-line auction will terminate on October 23 and 25% of the total amount raised will be donated to Maison Plein Coeur. GO YUNUS!
“….Every year, I love to donate a portion of my work to Maison Plein Coeur, a foundation that benefits the overall health of people living with HIV. This is the very first time I am hosting an online auction where 25% of the proceeds will go directly to Maison Plein Coeur. This is your chance to bid on my latest series at a welcoming price and help create new future projects for the foundation….” states Yunus Chkirate who is fresh from a US exhibition and already planning his next major show.

Information about Yunus Chkirate:
Yunus Chkirate is the descendant of Moroccan and Italian parents. From a young age, he demonstrated strong artistic skills and an expansive imagination. His mother, being an artist and fashion designer, exposed him to many factors, which influence his painting today. Yunus pursued his studies in social sciences and fashion marketing. The combination of these two disciplines developed his sense of socio-cultural understanding and creativity. While working in the fashion industry, Yunus gained knowledge of color and visual aesthetics. He used fashion as an art form. This allowed him to test his love for creating, thus laying the foundations for his own artistic process.
After making a strong impression in the Montreal art scene by selling out his first solo show in March of 2011, Yunus continued his pursuit of the arts by participating in group and solo exhibitions. In the span of five years, Yunus Chkirate has developed into a sought after visual artist with a growing list of international admirers. His works are found in collections across the globe and he is also a widely commissioned portrait artist.
