Out & Equal, a national nonprofit organization that advocates for gays and lesbians being welcomed into the workplace, is doing a little welcoming of its own this month by adding a retired diplomat, a former member of the U.S. Navy, and a General Manager at Microsoft to its Board of Directors.
Signing on for two-year terms, Michael Guest, Julie Hogan, and Megan Wallent have joined the team.
The addition of three new Board Members of various professional backgrounds and public prestige brings many benefits to Out & Equal.
Expressing her delight, Founding Executive Director Selisse Berry says, “They each bring an incredible amount of dedication and passion to the movement of achieving lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workplace equality, and they will help us further our mission nationally and globally.”
We look forward to following their success.
Based in San Francisco, Out & Equal works to ensure workplaces are safe and equitable for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees.
They offer diversity trainings that utilize educational materials created by the organization in order to educate and empower companies, governmental agencies, and individual employees to recognize myths about LGBT people, explore the negative effects of homophobia on the work environment, improve employee relations, and implement ways to be an ally to LGBT workers.
Out & Equal promotes fairness and respect, and seeks to foster a sense of community in the workplace.
