Curve is giving away 10 DVDs
The award-winning film features interviews with over 25 activists who helped shape feminism today through the Women’s Liberation Movement that challenged the everyday discrimination against women via lower pay, sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence, homophobia, racism and more. (DVD debuts March 1 from Music Box Films)
This documentary focuses on lesser-known figures of the movement of the late 1960s. From the founding of the National Organization of Women (NOW) through the 1970s, before the fall of the Equal Rights Amendment, the viewer encounters the street theatrics of WITCH (Women’s International Conspiracy from Hell!) and meets the Boston women who wrote the paradigm-shifting 1969 text Our Bodies, Ourselves.
The documentary beautifully blends archival footage, including photographic stills and film, with contemporary interviews, with Brown and Jay, and also with an impressive assortment of other women, including Chude Pamela Allen, Susan Brownmiller, Linda Burnham, Kate Millett and more.
