Queer And Disabled: Representation And Accessibility

Queer And Disabled: Representation And Accessibility In The Series' New Video

The Youtube video discusses media representation and accessibility.

Annie Segarra, Rachel Anne, Robyn Lambird, and Erin E come from the US, Canada, and Australia.

All four identify as queer and disabled and have produced a new video series on YouTube to discuss questions about identifying as queer and having a disability.

In the series, questions about the intersections of identifying as queer and having a disability are discussed.

Accessibility, representation, fetishisation, and de-sexualisation, as well as different ways to approach dating someone with a disability, will also be discussed throughout the series.

This week’s video asks the questions:

“Do you think media representation of queer disabled folks affects how we are perceived in real life?”

“Do you feel like LGBTQ+ spaces are accessible to you? Do you feel welcome in those spaces and in queer culture in general?”
