Combining powerful vocals, inspirational lyrics, and passion has skyrocketed Shawnee to the top. One of Canada’s favorite music artists, Shawnee is an award winning vocalist and performer, using music to inspire and empower strength.
The Canadian powerhouse Mohawk started her career singing as a Shania Twain impersonator in her hometown of Welland, Ontario before sharing the stages with the world’s top artists including Tegan and Sara and Lady Gaga.
After releasing her single “Mirror Me”, the song quickly hit #1 on the NAMC charts and gained international media attention. Shawnee has gone on to perform all over Canada and the USA and was named MTV’s Top Gender Bending Artists as a Two Spirit person.
Now, Shawnee is set to release her highly anticipated single “Warrior Heart” in early spring. This song focuses on aboriginal youth empowerment and suicide awareness to help end the suicide crisis in communities.
Leading with passion and a creative spirit, Shawnee has become a recognizable songwriter and continues to use music and her story to empower women, youth, aboriginal and LGBTQ communities.
