Laura Prepon Leaving Orange Is The New Black

Plus, we’ve got Lady Gaga’s new music video for Applause.

Happy Friday curvettes, the weekend is almost here!

An unfortunate rumor is going around the lesbian Twitterverse that Laura Prepon is leaving Orange is the New Black. Yes, you heard right. Even after the success of its first season, BuzzFeed reports Prepon decides to exit the show, but will remain in the second season for a limited number of episodes “in order to resolve her story.” Prepon is a powerful addition to the show and we hate to see her leave. Sigh. [AfterEllen]

The Voice runner up Michelle Chamuel is releasing new, electric album All I Want will hit stores and iTunes September 10. The out artist self produced the album as The Reverb Junkie. “This album is quite different from anything I’ve done before.

Every sound came through my mind. All voices you hear come from me. All the notes were played by me (though some birds outside and floor creaking make a cameo – if you listen closely),” Chamuel wrote about the project on her Facebook page. [SheWired]

Natasha Lyonne stars in indie film G.B.F., which will play in Vancouver this week and she hopes her work in queer films will help young gays feel good about themselves. She told the Vancouver Sun:

“Certainly I respect that some actors who are gay have a challenge in coming out because of the potential prejudice they may face and the limitations they may be presented with. For any of the gay actors I know it’s a really big challenge – I think it’s still really hard for people to come out to their own families. Hopefully it’s getting easier; hopefully movies like G.B.F. make it easier; movies like But I’m a Cheerleader make it easier. … I also know that it’s a really complicated personal issue, whether they’re actors or not. What would just be amazing though is if there wasn’t ongoing prejudice.” [Vancouver Sun]
