Looking for an LGBTQ-friendly hotspot to spend a weekend?
The year 2019 really will be the year for Vienna’s bustling LGBTQ community!
Not only will EuroPride (plus the Rainbow Ball, Life Ball and much more) be held in the city next year, but same-sex couples will also finally be allowed to get married. (YAY)
And yet, that’s just two of many reasons to plan a getaway to Vienna. Here we’ve put together some of our favourite ways to while away a weekend in the Austrian capital…
A LITTLE ROMANCE
Nowhere is more romantic than Vienna. What a joy it is, therefore, that everyone will soon be able to get married there.
Looking for somewhere a little different to tie the knot? Couples can exchange rings at spectacular venues such as Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace or the Giant Ferris Wheel.
HISTORY BUFFS
Vienna has much more to offer than tradition, breathtaking architecture and lots of culture. Vienna lives queer history like almost no other European city. Oh, and “same-sex traffic light couples” existed in Vienna even before they became cool. Pay a visit to the city for a look at the original queer traffic light couples. (Click here to find out more!)
DANCE, DANCE, DANCE
In Vienna, anything is possible. How about dancing through the night in a former slaughterhouse or an Art Nouveau pavilion designed by Otto Wagner? Vienna’s got you covered (and that’s not to mention the line-up for EuroPride!)
VIENNA SAYS RELAX
Rough day? What about a little relaxation in front of the beautiful backdrop of Schönbrunn Palace? With a successful mix of imperial tradition and modernity and green spaces, Vienna is the ideal place for a weekend trip. (Click here to book your trip!)
LGBTQ-FRIENDLY
Importantly, Vienna has been awarded multiple times for being a particularly LGBTQ friendly destination. The city really does have everything the heart desires — whoever your heart desires. Be that cosy cafés, stylish bars or BIG parties in extraordinary locations throughout the city. So what are you waiting for? Find out more!
