For years, I’ve wanted to take on the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge but the idea of writing a 50,000 word novel in the month of November—an always hectic month for me—sounded overwhelming.
But this year, the idea of taking a month off of everything else and just engulfing myself in a story sounds amazing.
So, my devoted, adoring, loving fans, I’m had to abandon you for a month.
To be honest, you didn’t miss much. As you’ve read, I’m taking a break from my usually hyper-sexed routine for some much needed me time, which means there won’t be much to report on anyways.
I’ve grown a bit and it’s time for my dating life to do the same. I’m not quite sure what that’s going to look like but I know one night stands aren’t going to be as prominent as they used to be.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to turn down sex if it comes my way and I don’t plan on hitching my U-Haul to the next gal that appears, but the whole Craigslist trolling and random sex with practical strangers thing is getting old.
I’m ready for repeat offenders, which means I have to find someone worth seeing more than once and that takes time, so time is what I’m taking.
The good news is, I usually write in a teahouse full of sexy queers, so as my fingers work rapidly to bust out 1,667 words a day for NaNoWriMo, my eyes can enthusiastically wander around the room.
Additionally, even though I’m usually adverse to the idea, I’m allowing people to set me up. Typically, my control issues keep me from believing others know what’s good for me but, since I don’t always know what’s good for me either, I’m giving set-ups a try. Don’t worry, a month will go by faster than you think and I’ll be back (hopefully with new stories to tell) just in time to revive Drama Free December. Until then, wish me luck on finishing this novel, I’ll need all the help I can get.
