Ladies, lock up your girlfriends¢â¬season three is going bicoastal.
Love it or hate it, The Real L Word is coming back. The third season of the controversial and deliciously drama-filled reality show about lesbian life in the city is set to return to Showtime in 2012. This time around, the show is going to bounce between sun-drenched L.A. and fast-paced New York, presenting a bicoastal cast that includes some as-of-yet unconfirmed familiar faces. Creator and executive producer Ilene Chaiken released a statement this morning hinting at the thrills to come:
“We're excited and gratified to be picking up the stories of our most beloved season two cast members at some truly major and life-altering junctures, and we think it's time to throw down and invite the women of New York to join in and demonstrate the claims they've lobbed at us these past few years…that New York's women have something more to say about lesbian life, something that isn't being said by our Los Angeles ladies. Bring it on, Brooklyn!”
The network will be casting in both cities soon, so if you think your lady drama makes Whitney Mixter’s look like marital bliss, keep your eyes out for more info about how to get involved. Debs need not apply!
In the meantime, sate your Real L Word appetite by watching “Gay in L.A.,” a hilarious collaboration between cast member Romi Klinger and Love Darling, who sings the show’s intro song. We don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say the rap parody riffs on dreadlocks, dead birds and, yes, strap-ons.
