Students will perform a show learned concurrently with Broadway stars.
On Sunday May 22, Rosie O’Donnell will host the 6th Annual Spring Benefit for Rosie’s Theater Kids (RTKids). This year’s theme is “Passing it On: An Evening of Mentorship”.
Founded by Rosie O’Donnell and Lori Klinger, Rosie’s Theater Kids is a nationally recognized New York City arts education nonprofit. It is one of the largest programs in New York City and is the only organization to provide all the services free of charge to students and schools.
The organization provides services to students who would otherwise not be given the opportunity to participate and experience theater. RTKids provides comprehensive classes in music, dance, and drama while also providing thoughtful mentoring and structured academic guidance.
Ultimately, RTKids aims to inspire excellence, motivate learning, build confidence, and encourage students to have a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
This year, students will have the opportunity to perform a show they learned concurrently with Broadway stars. The students had the experience of working with many mentors including Tony Award nominees.
RTKids is also honoring the Palette Fund. The Palette Fund aims at providing support for organizations and institutions working towards building healthy and thriving communities. The Palette Fund has already provided over $5 million in grants to more than 125 organizations including RTKids.
