We Are She Is (aka WASI) are the epitome of modern riot pop punk. Merilou Salazar and Jessie Meehan have burst onto the music scene with their songs empowering women and LGBTIQ folk.
Through Coup, which includes hits "Floor Talk and Superhero", the duo spotlight their experiences growing up as underdogs in spaces where being their authentic selves wasn’t safe, and finding the power to create their own safe space.
The two have conquered the woke music game; From playing sold out feminist and LGBTIQ events throughout the West Coast, to creating their own music festival — Women Fuck Shit Up Fest – WASI found what they needed to build the unstoppable community that the duo continues to thrive in and spearhead today.
Merilou and Jessie have also put out the call for “female identified badasses” to be in the music video for "Gold."
