The Center’s Women’s Event 17 celebrates lesbian herstory and feminist trailblazer Gloria Steinem
New York City’s The Center has been fostering and supporting the city’s LGBT community since 1983, offering resources, facilities, leadership and many opportunities for the neediest in our community—from youth services to recovery and wellness. The Center is also known for its stellar fundraising events, one of which is the annual Women’s Event, which raises funds that support The Center’s diverse array of programs and services, including those that directly benefit lesbians, bisexual women and transgender people.
This year, the Women’s Event 17 will be bigger and bolder than ever at the brand new Cipriani in the historic Cunard Building.
Join The Center at this gorgeous venue for a night of cocktails, dinner and dancing to celebrate lesbian history and the women who are making a difference in our world.
This year honorees will be feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem, plus Deborah Glick and Prudential.
Special guests will include Orange Is the New Black star Lea DeLaria, musicians Melissa Ferrick and Kiyomi McCloskey, and Susan Wicks from the WNBA.
After party admission is included with each Women’s Event ticket purchase. The after party at Hot Rabbit features DJs JD Samson from Le Tigre and DJ Robi D Light. After Party tickets may also be purchased separately for those not attending the dinner. Discounted individual After Party tickets may be purchased for $50 until November 1. Regular priced After Party tickets cost $75, which includes dancing, dessert and a top shelf open bar.
