Plucky LGBT Foundation in charity Turkey Dash °Å¸Â¦Æ’

Manchester-based organisation, the LGBT Foundation, has been selected as one of eight national charities taking part in Turkey Dash – a campaign involving Aardman Animation CGI animated turkeys (of Wallace and Gromit fame!) and sponsored by PayPal Giving

The public will donate to help the turkeys "train" for the race, which will be broadcast in a two-minute ad on Channel 4 on Friday, 15 December. The more donations the turkey receives, the faster it will run, so the turkey with the most donations will come first!

LGBT Foundation’s rainbow-tailed turkey, Rainbow Rebel, took centre stage at a boot camp session launch event in Manchester’s Village led by Belinda Scandal, designed to get the turkey’s training off to a flying start.

Representatives from Manchester Leatherman, the Village Spartans RUFC, Manchester Frontrunners, Greater Manchester Police, and LGBT Foundation staff, trustees and volunteers were also on hand to help Rainbow Rebel get set for their big race day.

The charity, which provides life-changing services to LGBT people, will be competing alongside with other big charity names including RNLI and Save the Children. Commenting on the launch of Rainbow Rebel’s Turkey dash training, Paul Martin OBE, Chief Executive of LGBT Foundation said:

“We’re delighted to be chosen to feature in this major national fundraising campaign. We’re racing alongside some real big hitters so we’re excited to have Greater Manchester right behind us!

“This festive season we’re asking everyone to get behind our turkey so that we can continue to provide vital support to lesbian, gay, bi and trans communities all year round.”
