Olivia Travel Unveils Bold New Billboards In New York City’s Times Square Featuring LGBTQ+ Women

Olivia, The Travel Company for LGBTQ+ Women, announced today a new campaign aimed at making a political statement with the company’s first-ever billboard in Times Square.

Olivia Travel unveils bold new billboards in  in New York City’s Times Square featuring LGBTQ+ women

The “Because She Said Yes” campaign, which embodies the Olivia message of love, acceptance, and community. It is projected across three jumbo screens and carries images of LGBTQ women aimed at showcasing the company’s longstanding commitment to equality.

 

“This is not just a marketing campaign – this is a political statement. As our community finds itself under attack from the nation’s top officeholder, representation is more important than ever.  Olivia doesn’t just provide a safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer women to travel together. We stand for equality and acceptance, and we will not stop until every person can live the American dream – no matter where they live, who they love, or how they identify.”

 

The new billboard covers a a 7,000-square-foot viewing area that spans 21 floors and can be seen  at at the intersection of 7th Ave and 42nd Street in Times SquareThe billboards feature real Olivia guests and will be displayed through January 31, 2020. The campaign is an important milestone in LGBTQ+ women’s representation in Times Square and is timed to ensure that it will be seen by millions who visit Times Square during the holiday season and tune into the iconic New Year’s Eve broadcasts across the broadcast networks and cable television.  

 

In addition, Olivia is launching a contest encouraging LGBTQ+ women to share photos of themselves across social media using the hashtag, #beautifultogether. The company will pick one participant who enters by January 31, 2020 to win a vacation for two toTurks and Caicos Resort II, November 14-20, 2020. In addition, entries received before 11:59 PM PT on December 15, 2019, will also be eligible to be featured during  the Olivia Times Square billboard campaign. 

 

Olivia has offered more than 350 trips and taken over 250,000 women on vacations all over the world. We couldn’t be more inspired by both the community of women who put together our vacations and those who travel with us. It’s a beautiful, diverse array of LGBTQ+ women, and this campaign is designed to showcase them and their lives,” said Dlugacz.

  • All entries to Olivia’s “Because She Said Yes” contest require a photo and must be submitted through Olivia’s website at www.olivia.com
  • Deadline for entries to win the vacation for two at Turks & Caicos Resort II is January 31, 2020, at 11:59 PM PT; the winner will be notified on or before February 14, 2020
  • Deadline for entries additionally eligible for display on Olivia’s Time Square billboard is December 15, 2019, at 11:59 PM PT; the winning photograph—or photographs—will be picked by January 1, 2020, and displayed on the billboard in Times Square 
  • Participants are encouraged to post their entries to Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter with Olivia’s hashtags #beautifultogether, #oliviatravel, and #sayyestotravel
