Program provides year-long CrossFit memberships, nutrition coaching, and more to deserving LGBTQ+ young adults
It can be hard for many LGBTQ+ young adults to find a place where they feel comfortable participating in fitness, and The OUT Foundation is partnering with local CrossFit gyms across the country to change that.
“The OUT Foundation provides access to health, wellness, and fitness to the LGBTQ+ community,” said Will Lanier, Executive Director of The OUT Foundation. “In service of our mission, we launched the OUTAthlete Program to set LGBTQ+ young adults up for success by providing year-long gym memberships, nutrition coaching, and more to deserving applicants to help them establish a healthy lifestyle.”
Enrollment is open now, and interested applicants are encouraged to apply at iamout.org/outathlete before the November 22, 2019 deadline.
Recipients will be chosen and notified by December 20, 2019, and The OUT Foundation will work with them to find a local, inclusive CrossFit affiliate where they can begin their fitness journey in January of 2020.
OUTAthletes receive a year-long membership to a local LGBTQ+ friendly CrossFit gym, nutrition coaching, 30% off all OUTWOD apparel, gifts from our sponsors, and more.
The OUTAthlete Program is funded, in part, by OUTWOD events hosted by CrossFit affiliates worldwide to create a more inclusive environment and show support for the LGBTQ+ community. At an OUTWOD, LGBTQ+ athletes and allies join together to participate in a fun workout, create awareness for community issues in sport and fitness, and raise funds for The OUT Foundation to support programs like this.
The OUT Foundation’s mission is to remove the barriers that block LGBTQ+ individuals’ access and participation in health, wellness, and fitness to ensure their success.
