LEZ launch takes over Libertine by Chinawhite

Because girls just want to have fun”¦ °Å¸ÂÂ¸

Lezbehonest, as much as we adore all the queer female parties in London and beyond, there just isn’t enough for us pleasure-seeking, female-loving ladies to pencil into our diaries.

We want variety, change, surprises and more opportunities to socialise with LGBTQ+ women and our fabulous allies…

My good friends Erida Huda and Christine Vaghela discussed this sentiment with me one warm summer evening, and that very night LEZ events was born – with its glitzy launch party taking place on Thursday 11 October 2018 at glamourous West End nightclub, Libertine by Chinawhite.

I spent my early twenties mincing around such exclusive London haunts, and adored their glamour, pomp and pizazz. Such clubs offered the perfect escapism to the humdrum of daily life and allowed me to dance away the stresses of daily life.

Upon realising I was bisexual in my 30’s, my experiences in such chic spaces changed slightly. Whilst I would always enjoy myself, I would feel slightly sexualised by the male gaze when I visited with my girlfriend. Why couldn’t such fun-filled, blingtastic clubs host parties for girls, who like girls?

This question would always go round in my mind, and it turned out ex-firearms officer Christine and Erida wondered the same. Praised in the media as a gay woman starting her own all-female electrician company ElecChicks, Christine has always been a pioneer for challenging gender stereotypes.

Her neuroscientist girlfriend Erida had the same outlook after years frequenting opulent “straight” clubs in London and the Italian Rivera.

The shamelessly glitzy LEZ launch party at Libertine by Chinawhite will see international garage DJ and MC duo The Artful Dodger headlining alongside a host of female DJs including Sizzles, iAmTaM, Nichole Keri, 2 Traxx, and Ministry of Sound’s Skandi.

Married lesbian couple Deux Ailes will be performing x-rated acrobatic dances and guests will be able to feast their eyes on a tantalising striptease by queer burlesque artist Trixie Kixx.

To celebrate the launch, early guests can feast on cupcakes by The Hummingbird Bakery and goody bags filled with treats including handcrafted, gender neutral fragrances by HERBA London, naughty treats from sh!, Skinny Lager and the aptly-named "pussy energy drink" will be waiting for the first 100 people to arrive.

Famously frequented by a younger, more scandalous Prince Harry and a host of party-loving celebrities back in the 90’s, Libertine by Chinawhite regularly sees a flurry of famous folk frolic though its doors, including Drake, Anthony Joshua, Leonardo DiCaprio and Rhianna.

By closing its doors to the public and taking a chance with a queer female event on a prime time London club night, this iconic West End club is making a powerful, one-of-a-kind stand and setting an essential example to the heteronormative West End clubbing scene.

Erida, Christine and I feel that lez/bi social media influencers who share their lives with us so proudly are such positive role models for women and young teens who may be conflicted about their sexuality, so we invited them to join in with all the merriment.

Inspirational lesbian Instagram influencer Maxx Diamond and her wife Stephanie Holsters are flying in from Belgium to attend our launch as well as lesbian Instagram heartthrob Laura Cramer.

The proudly bi and beautiful Mewsha will be jetting over from Australia for our November winter party where we will be showcasing more female talent, and of course, there’ll be a few extra surprises to shake up the scene…
