Have you experienced EuroPride yet?

The biggest Pride event in Europe heads to Vienna for 2019!

For the second time since 2001, from 1-16 June 2019, EuroPride is headed for the gorgeous city of Vienna!

Over two weeks, the Rathausplatz, a square in front of the city’s most important government building will become home to the EuroPride Village, a tent city offering a Pride-a-licious programme to visitors!

With food stands, live performances and DJs, alongside info booths and LGBTQorganisations and businesses, there'll be a lively atmosphere each day on the huge stage in front of Vienna's City Hall.

This is also where EuroPride’s big finale will take place after their Rainbow Parade on June 15, where top, international acts will be performing (to be announced in the not-too-distant future…)

Speaking of Rainbow Parade: this is arguably the highlight of EuroPride! Walking along the most beautiful boulevard in the world, Vienna's Ringstrasse, with hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world is an experience you're not going to forget anytime soon…

Still, that's not to say that the two weeks before the Rainbow Parade aren't packed with numerous events — they are!

There'll be a Pride Beach on the Danube Canal bringing badass beachy atmosphere to the middle of the city, a Pride Street Festival in the Prater sees Vienna’s legendary amusement park turn into an LGBTQ+ hub, and the legendary Pride Run will lead from the most beautiful part of Ringstrasse to Rathausplatz for EuroPride…

Not bad, eh?

Vienna's LGBTQ+ scene

While by day, Vienna is famously filled with art, culture, music, and top notch food and wine…

By night, Vienna's flourishing scene comes to life!

With cozy cafés, stylish bars and cool parties in extraordinary locations (how many people can say that they have danced through the night in a former slaughterhouse or an Art Nouveau pavilion designed by Otto Wagner?) it’s all possible in this pretty city.

Oh, and it’s actually official now too – Vienna has received multiple awards as an LGBTQ+ destination.

In March 2018, the city beat New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas as Destination Of The Year at the Australian LGBTI Awards, and in January 2018, GayTravel.com, awarded Vienna the title of Best International Destination.

LGBTQ+ couples holding hands while strolling through the city are now part of everyday life. In fact, in the summer of 2018, Vienna became the first European metropolis to be chosen as the Most Livable City In The World by The Economist. Bravo!

Fancy tying the knot?

If you're planning on making your way to Vienna for EuroPride (and why wouldn't you?) you can also get married there!

As of 2019, marriage is possible for everyone throughout Austria. And there’s not many prettier places to tie the knot than in Vienna.

Couples say their "I dos" at venues inclusing Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace or the Giant Ferris Wheel. And if you’re already spending the best day of your life in Vienna, you should probably start your honeymoon there too, eh?

After all, Vienna's a bit of a romantic hotspot…
