A woman of many, many talents
Gaye Todd was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was the valedictorian of her high school and went to Boston University. Gaye has held several jobs including being a technical writer, bacteriologist, researcher, and a teacher for 18 years. Gaye Abegablola is also an inspiring speaker and has several workshops. Her lecture subjects include civil rights, gay rights, blues, vocal performing, and much more. She has won several awards and was in Curve Magazine’s 20th Anniversary Issue (July/August 2010).
She is an accomplished singer, composer, acoustical and slide guitarist, and plays harmonica. Gaye has been a solo artist, a duo performer, and in bands. Her current group is called Gaye Adegbalola & The Wild Rutz. She was the founder of Saffire The Uppity Blues Women. Over her career she has made over 14 CDs including one CD for children.
