It’s a gorgeous spring weekend in Orlando, Florida. Women from all over the globe meet up to get wild, dance and love
Amy Alonso, Alison Burgos, and Yesenia Leon are the women behind the lesbian production company Pandora Events who put on GIW, among other events. This crew brought in the incomparable Australian music duo, The Veronicas.
Their LGBTQ anthems like “Take me on the Floor” and “Untouched” got everyone singing in unison to the beats that so perfectly captured our coming out moments or encapsulated the feelings we found hard to articulate 10 plus years ago.
During the day, the pools were filled with gorgeous women of all shapes, sizes, identities, and backgrounds.
At night, we got to see The Veronicas on the first leg of their American Pride tour. After each nightly party there was the famous Girl the Party, where some of Orlando’s favorite DJ’s and the go-go Vixens got wild and rhythmically dragged us into the early hours of the morning.
It’s hard to say what the best part of the weekend was. We partied, we laughed, we met new friends, we got closer to old friends, we danced, and we loved. It felt like one big, warm, community, the likes of which some of us, me included, have never experienced before.
