Don’t Miss Changing Lanes Festival

Don't miss Changing Lanes festival

Changing Lanes, a local festival of art and music and one of the biggest fundraising events

Tame Impala, Ernest Ellis and Bridezilla are headlining, with many, many more of Sydney’s best filling our the bill . The main stage will take over Eliza Street, in the heart of Newtown, and another two will hosted by The Courthouse Hotel and Zanzibar Hotel. In true festival style, the entire area will be filled with food and market stalls, street performers and art.

Throughout the day five local and international street artists will paint live on the Eliza Street-facing wall of The Courthouse Hotel, engaging the crowd with feats of artistic expression amidst the live music and performance. The markets will serve up a ready supply of vintage clothing, vinyl, books and more, while food will range from the quick and ready to the gourmet.

The Courthouse and Zanzibar will host live music and DJs, playing well into the evening. Zanzibar’s mid level will be ablaze with hip-hop, while further up the stairs their famous rooftop will be vibrating with dub-step, electro and more until eventually the masterful Itch-e and Scratch-e play their headline set.

Meanwhile, The Courthouse will be celebrating 50s and 60s rock and blues, spun by DJs from some of Sydney’s favourite clubs (think GoodGod, Ching-a-Lings and The Civic), as well as guest appearances from some of FBi’s own vinyl fiends.

With a stellar line up of music from established artists as well as Sydney’s best up and comers; a host of street artists and performers, DJs, markets, food and a pure party vibe from all sides of the cultural fence, Changing Lanes will not only offer something for everyone, it will change the way people think about festivals in Sydney.
