This stuff is crazy and I love it!
I always had really long, full eyelashes. But allergies (and time) and a sleep mask (according to my dermatologist) left them not as insanely dramatic as they used to be.
I started to use Benefit’s “They’re Real” mascara and people started commenting again on my lashes the way they did years ago. “Are those your real lashes?” “Do you get extensions?” “Oh my God! You’re lashes are so long!”
But always one to want to up the ante, I felt compelled to test out these 3D Fiber Lashes I kept hearing about. I didn’t know if it was a mascara or fake lashes or what until I had the product in my hands.
Turns out it’s two products really. It’s a gel and a tube of fibers. You put on mascara. Then you brush on the gel. Then you brush on the fibers. Then you seal it with more gel.
It’s basically like applying mascara four times on each eye. One eye at a time.
It took me a few tries to do it. The gel is thick and the fibers will fall on your face if you get too many on there. But if you take your time and use a lash brush to separate them, the results are over the top.
They basically look like they have to be fake lashes except they look WAY more real. It’s kind of crazy. But I LOVE this stuff. My lashes look amazing, and I get a zillion compliments every time I use it.
The photos here just don’t do it justice. So Google away. You’ll find lots of pics, and I guarantee you’ll be impressed!
Once I like one product in a line, I feel compelled to check out some of their other goodies. So I tried out their lip liner and gloss too. I went a little too pink for my taste.
But color is very personal, as you likely know. And I thought the gloss wand was a little odd. It has a foam sort of applicator end. But I’m getting used to it.
The liner has super lasting power and – best of all – doesn’t end up on my girlfriend post-kissing. A VERY big plus.
I also gave the eyeliner a whirl and that I give a double thumbs up. It goes on really smoothly and easily – a plus for an all-thumbs girl like me. Easy application, killer results, and swift removal – those are my three musts and Younique has them.
And I’ve got a new go-to. Not for every day lashes. That would be too much for my daily diet of coffee meetings and interviews. But it’s perfect for weekend outings and special events.
Way easier than fake lashes, for sure. And an equally dramatic look!
