Nimona is a film that is based on the comic of the same name by trans writer ND Stevenson. It features openly queer characters in the lead roles who are not based on stereotypes. The story does not deal with coming out instead focusing on developing friendship between the title character Nimona and Ballister Boldheart. In addition to the comics creator, the voice cast contains many queer actors, including; Chloë Grace Moretz, Eugene Lee Yang, Indya Moore, Julio Torres, and Rupaul Charles.
