“A weekend getaway for four couples takes a sharp turn when one of the couples discovers the entire trip was orchestrated to host an intervention on their marriage.”
Comedy. This film drowns you in awkwardness, tension and dysfunctional relationships, consistently broken up by very funny comedic bits and undertones. Becomes an pleasantly unexpected story that feels reflective of real relationships and of projection, at times filling me with sadness, while at other times filling me with hope, romance, shock, and laughter throughout. Very talented cast, including a mini ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ reunion. This story is not at all about coming out and the characters are developed beyond stereotypes (which is probably accredited to LGBTQ writer/director/actor Clea DuVall and the other LGBTQ cast members).
Confirmed LGBTQ+ cast/crew:
Clea DuVall (writer/director & actor)
Alia Shawkat
Tegan & Sarah (music)
Mel Eslyn
