Grab your boards, girls¢â¬Santa Catarina, Brazil to host South America’s first lesbian surf camp.
South America’s first surf camp for lesbians will be held May 9th – 16th, 2015 in beautiful Santa Catarina, Brazil.
The lesbian-owned tour operation, Brazil Ecojourneys, will be offering this unique opportunity for women of all ages, sizes, nationalities, and skill-level. Although created as a lesbian camp, it will also welcome all women allies, families, and friends for a week of sweet waves.
Marta Dalla Chiesa, owner of Brazil Ecojourneys, explains, “There really aren’t many opportunities for gay women to get together and learn to surf in a friendly environment,” which led to her desire to offer women a week of their own in Santa Catarina after first having success hosting a mixed LGBT camp.
Santa Catarina, with its mild climate and gorgeous beaches, is described as a hidden gem and has become a popular place for LGBT vacationers. It boasts a half-moon shaped bay, Praia De Rosa, where the surf camp will be held. The waters of this bay are known for great surfing in a variety of wind and swell conditions, making it an ideal place for surfers to gather.
