Let’s Talk About Sex

The Center for Sexual Health Promotion invites you to participate in a survey on lesbian sexuality.

Let’s talk about sex, baby.

Or, about how women don’t seem to be talking about it—at least not to our friends at The Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University. The researchers have been collecting data for the largest contemporary examination of how women have sex with women but numbers have been dragging.

They have conducted similar surveys with heterosexual groups and gay men, whose community response numbers have been 30,000 and 23,000, respectively. The lesbians? Lagging behind at 1,300 globally. Ladies, we can do better than that.

The researchers are a passionate team looking to really understand how women relate to one another sexually. The information learned from the study will be used by sexual educators to promote pleasure, as well as by medical professionals looking to help women identify ways to protect themselves from risks. All this info will hopefully lead to safer and happier sex for our community.

As the Indiana researchers have pointed out, current knowledge of sexual pleasure and risk between women is largely based on either heterosexual models of sex or on information gathered from relatively small groups of women. Let’s change that.
