If you missed our live interview with singers Dee Meredith, Krissy Krissy and Emma’s Revolution, you can watch it right here.
Inspired by the OUTmusic Awards, also known as the LGBT Academy of Recording Arts (LARA), we hosted a three-part live video interview series revolving around queer music. In our first live interview we got to talk with Diedra Meredith, the chairwoman of the OUTmusic Awards (a.k.a. singer Deepa Soul), as well as Krissy Krissy and Pat Humphries and Sandy O from Emma's Revolution. Each woman spoke on the importance of having the support of the LGBT community as a queer artist, the different levels of resistance they each faced across generations as queer musicians and the impact that the current LGBT equality movement has on their careers, as well as the impact that their music is making on changing the cultural view towards LGBT individuals.
